Why Go With New Dreams Coaching?

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Michelle Kunz, Founder of New Dreams Coaching. I have been helping people of all ages, professions, interests, faiths and backgrounds to achieve their goals and realize their dreams for over ten years.

Please do not be alarmed! This is my "intense opera singer" picture. And this is me on the left with one of my very happy coaching clients at a recent motivational evening I sponsored.

A little background

An opera singer and voice teacher by formal education, I have published articles in Classical Singer magazine as a life coach, addressing topics such as how to keep drama from ruining your life, how to include your family in your career, how to tell your parents you've chosen a career in the arts, and how to parent from a distance. An entire article series addresses issues facing aging female singers. I have studied numerous techniques for improving self confidence, increasing personal creativity and achieving personal and professional success, and have led several online groups through Julia Cameron's twelve week course: The Artist's Way (purchase this book in our new online store!). I have sung across the U.S. and in Europe in a number of leading opera roles. If you're curious about my musical life, check out my musical website www.michellekunz.com.

How I became a coach

Several years ago, I made the commitment to turn my informal coaching practice into a formal, full time business under the licensed name of New Dreams Coaching. I realized that my life purpose was most perfectly met through the process of coaching others to identify and achieve their full potential. I get just as excited when sharing a client success as I do when performing! I researched the International Coach Federation accredited coaching schools, and selected iPEC Coaching as the perfect place to complete my formal training based on iPEC's methodology and a shared philosophy.

Why am I a great coach?

Life coaching fits closely with all of my most deeply held personal values: integrity, honesty, courage, and the ability to be a force for change in people's lives. Blessed with powerful intuition, my personal study and experience in coaching others has proved to be one of the most fulfilling of all my life endeavors. I genuinely love people, and am able to truly focus on you and your goals, giving my very best skills to each session. I believe in the power of self discovery, and the coaching process embodies that power as I help you find your own answers. I would like to be your guide and support if you are motivated and energetic about making big changes in your life. Please drop me an email and feel free to ask any questions you have so I can help make your decision an easy one.

Some personal stuff

I am happily married and mother of three. Of course, that "happy" isn't perfect, and it didn't happen overnight. I have finally improved my communication skills, and learned how to explore the breadth and depth of my own and others' emotions. Diagnosed in early 2004 with manic-depression, I had to learn how to deal with my incredibly intense emotions, and the reactions others have to my intensity. I am now a fervent yoga practitioner and am working to make meditation a part of my regular schedule.

I am a night owl. I love cooking and eating great vegetarian food, downhill skiing (when there is snow), dancing, reading, poetry and feeding birds. My backyard is a Certified Wildlife Habitat according to the National Wildlife Federation. I love color, and my entire home is vibrantly painted. I like comfy furniture, camping, fishing and spending time with my family and close friends. I am very picky about movies and rarely enjoy comedies. I enjoy knitting and needlepoint when I have time, and although we don't watch very much television in our home and do not subscribe to any premium cable channels, I must admit to a big liking for CSI (Las Vegas only) and Shark.
